Toyota Highlander · Chantilly, VA

HIGHLANDER PAINT PROTECTION FILM

The Highlander is a three-row commuter in Northern Virginia, and it spends its week on I-495 and Route 7 and its weekends in the carpool lane at a soccer field. The nose is upright with a wide grille, the hood is long and flat, and the bumper is body color on every trim, so the whole front face takes the gravel from the trucks on Route 28. Full front STEK film on a Highlander is a one-day install and covers the hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors, lights, and pillars.

Below is where a Highlander picks up chips around Chantilly, how the three packages lay out on this body, how we handle the sensors and the front camera, and which trims change the bumper. The hybrid and the gas car share the sheet metal, and the larger Grand Highlander is a different vehicle with its own patterns, so tell us which one you have.

What we see in the bay

WHERE A HIGHLANDER TAKES DAMAGE

The wide grille and its painted frame

The Highlander grille is tall and the painted bumper around it leads the car into the wind. Stones strike the painted bars at the grille base first and the corners second.

A long, flat hood

The hood sits at pickup-tailgate height and catches stones that skip over the bumper. On a flat panel this long, the chips are visible from the front door of the house.

Headlights and the mirror caps

The headlights are long and curve into the fenders, and the mirror caps ride high and wide. Both pit on the Toll Road, and both are included in full front.

Door cups and sills with three rows of passengers

A Highlander's door cups get scratched by keys and rings, and the sills get scuffed by shoes climbing into the third row. Those are the extended package.

Three packages

WHAT EACH PACKAGE COVERS ON THE HIGHLANDER

Partial Front

High-impact zones only · Half a day

Bumper, the first 18 inches of the hood, the fender edges, and the mirror caps. On the Highlander's long, flat hood the line is easy to spot on anything darker than white or silver.

  • Full front bumper
  • Leading 18" of the hood
  • Leading edge of both fenders
  • Side mirrors
Most chosen

Full Front

What most drivers choose · One day

The whole hood as one piece, both fenders, the bumper, mirrors, headlights, and A-pillars, with the hood edge wrapped under the lip. The package we recommend for a Highlander that commutes on I-495 or the Toll Road every day.

  • Full hood
  • Full front bumper
  • Both full fenders
  • Side mirrors
  • Headlights
  • A-pillars

Full Front Extended

Front end plus the wear areas · One to two days

Adds the rocker panels, door edges, and door cups on all four doors. For a family Highlander with kids, car seats, and a tight garage, this is the one that pays off.

  • Everything in Full Front
  • Rocker panels
  • Door edges and door cups
  • Door strips
  • A-pillars (halfway)

SENSORS, CAMERA, AND RADAR

The Highlander carries the Toyota Safety Sense camera behind the windshield, the radar behind the emblem, parking sensors across the bumper, and a front camera in the grille on trims with the panoramic view. Every window is cut out of the pattern. Nothing is filmed over a lens.

XSE AND THE STANDARD BUMPER

The XSE wears a sportier bumper with larger lower openings and a different grille, so it uses its own pattern. The LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum share the standard front. We confirm the trim before we cut.

HIGHLANDER VERSUS GRAND HIGHLANDER

The Grand Highlander is longer and wider with its own hood, fenders, and bumper. It is not the same pattern set as the Highlander, so tell us which one you are bringing in and we cut the right one.

By trim

TOYOTA HIGHLANDER TRIMS WE FILM

Highlander LE / XLE

Standard bumper; full front is the usual job.

Highlander XSE

Sport bumper and grille; own pattern.

Highlander Limited / Platinum

Standard front with more painted trim; full front with the extended package is common.

Highlander Hybrid

Shares the body with the gas car of the same trim; trim decides the pattern.

Questions

TOYOTA HIGHLANDER PPF QUESTIONS

Yes, and the family part is the reason. A Highlander spends more time in traffic behind trucks than most cars, gets washed at whatever car wash is nearby, and has door cups worked by kids every day. Full front keeps the nose looking right, and the extended package covers the cups and sills.
