F-150 PAINT PROTECTION FILM

The F-150 is the truck in every contractor lot off Route 28 and in half the driveways in Loudoun, and it has the tallest hood of anything we film regularly. That hood sits at the height of a dump truck tailgate, so what comes off the trucks on I-95 and the Prince William Parkway lands on top of it instead of underneath. The painted bumper corners and the hood edge chip first, and on a work truck they chip within the first season. Full front STEK film covers the panels that matter and goes on in a day.

This page covers where an F-150 picks up damage around Northern Virginia, what each of our three packages means on a truck this size, how we handle the sensors, the tow mirrors, and the 2024 refresh, and which trims change the pattern. If the truck tows a trailer or sees a job site, read the extended package note before you decide.

What we see in the bay

WHERE A F-150 TAKES DAMAGE

The hood, at tailgate height

The F-150 hood is flat, wide, and tall enough that gravel from the truck ahead hits it head-on. Chips collect along the leading edge and across the front third of the panel, right where you see them from the driveway.

Painted bumper corners and the grille surround

On Lariat and up the bumper is body color and the grille is framed in painted or bright trim. Both lead the truck into the wind and show the first winter of salt and cinders.

Fender tops behind big tires

The F-150's tires throw sand and brine onto the fender tops and the arch edges. On FX4 and Tremor trucks with aggressive tread it is worse. Full front covers the full fender.

Door edges and cups on a job site

Gloved hands, tool bags, and ladders work the door cups and the door edges meet trailers and other trucks in tight lots. Those are the extended package.

Three packages

WHAT EACH PACKAGE COVERS ON THE F-150

Partial Front

High-impact zones only · Half a day

The painted bumper, the first 18 inches of that big hood, the fender edges, and the mirror caps. The line lands on a flat, high hood, so it shows on anything darker than white or silver.

  • Full front bumper
  • Leading 18" of the hood
  • Leading edge of both fenders
  • Side mirrors
Most chosen

Full Front

What most drivers choose · One day

The whole hood as one piece, both fenders, the painted bumper, mirrors, headlights, and A-pillars, with the hood edge wrapped under the lip. Our recommendation for an F-150 that commutes on I-66 during the week and tows on the weekend.

  • Full hood
  • Full front bumper
  • Both full fenders
  • Side mirrors
  • Headlights
  • A-pillars

Full Front Extended

Front end plus the wear areas · One to two days

Full front plus the rocker panels, door edges, and door cups. If the truck sees gravel, a boat ramp, or a job site, this is the one; the rockers behind the front tires are the first thing to get sandblasted on a pickup.

  • Everything in Full Front
  • Rocker panels
  • Door edges and door cups
  • Door strips
  • A-pillars (halfway)

Pricing depends on the trim and the coverage you pick. What sets a PPF quote, or request yours and we reply the same business day.

PAINTED VERSUS CHROME AND PLASTIC

Lower trims run a plastic or chrome bumper, and the lower valance is textured plastic on most trucks. We film painted surfaces only; the pattern stops where the paint does, so there is no film on a surface that cannot hold it. Tell us the trim and we cut the right bumper piece.

SENSORS, CAMERA, AND RADAR

The F-150 carries parking sensors across the bumper, a front camera in the grille on trucks with the 360 system, and the radar for adaptive cruise behind the lower grille. Every window is cut out of the pattern. Nothing is filmed over, so BlueCruise and the parking aids work as delivered.

2024 REFRESH, RAPTOR, AND LIGHTNING

The 2024 update changed the grille, headlights, and bumper, so 2024 and newer trucks use a different pattern than 2021 to 2023. The Raptor has wider fenders and its own nose, and the Lightning has a closed grille and a frunk hood. We cut for the exact build.

Questions

FORD F-150 PPF QUESTIONS

That is the strongest case for it. A trailer behind you means gravel from every lot and ramp, and a work truck gets washed with a brush. The film takes the chips and the self-healing top coat takes the brush marks. It also keeps the trade-in clean when you upgrade.
