Chevrolet Corvette C8 · Chantilly, VA
C8 CORVETTE PROTECTION FILM
A C8 nose is a few inches off the pavement, the front trunk lid is wide and nearly flat, and the whole front clip is one big painted shape with no trim to hide a chip. Every Corvette that comes into our Chantilly shop unprotected has the same peppering across the lower fascia. We film Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray cars with STEK DYNOshield cut for each front end, and it is the single most common Corvette job we do.
This page covers the panels a C8 loses first on Route 28 and the Beltway, how partial front, full front, and full front extended map onto a mid-engine body, what we do about the front lift and the splitter, and which trims change the pattern. Most owners book within the first month of ownership, and the ones who wait usually wish they had not.
What we see in the bay
WHERE A CORVETTE C8 TAKES DAMAGE
The lower fascia and splitter
The C8 fascia drops to within inches of the road and the splitter sits in front of it. Stones hit the painted fascia above the splitter at every expansion joint on I-66.
The frunk lid
The front trunk lid is broad and low, and the airstream carries grit onto it from the car ahead. It is the first panel you see when you walk up and the one that shows chips most.
The side intakes behind the doors
A C8's front tires throw stones straight into the big intake scoops ahead of the rear wheels. That is outside the front packages, so mention it when you book and we can look at the scoops with the car in the bay.
The headlights and the fender peaks
The headlights are tucked into the fender peaks and sit directly in the wind. Pitting dulls them, and on a Corvette the fender tops are visible from the driver's seat.
Three packages
WHAT EACH PACKAGE COVERS ON THE CORVETTE C8
Partial Front
High-impact zones only · Half a day
The fascia, the leading 18 inches of the frunk lid, the front edge of each fender, and the mirrors. The line on the lid is noticeable on a C8 because the panel is so flat, so most owners go one step up.
- Full front bumper
- Leading 18" of the hood
- Leading edge of both fenders
- Side mirrors
Full Front
What most drivers choose · One day
The full frunk lid, both fenders, the fascia, mirrors, headlights, and A-pillars, edges wrapped at the lid and tucked at the arches. The package we recommend for a C8 that gets driven.
- Full hood
- Full front bumper
- Both full fenders
- Side mirrors
- Headlights
- A-pillars
Full Front Extended
Front end plus the wear areas · One to two days
Full front with the rockers, door edges, and door cups added. The C8 rockers sit right behind the front tires and the door cups scratch from the key fob, so this package is popular on cars that see weekend drives out Route 7.
- Everything in Full Front
- Rocker panels
- Door edges and door cups
- Door strips
- A-pillars (halfway)
Pricing depends on the trim and the coverage you pick. What sets a PPF quote, or request yours and we reply the same business day.
FRONT LIFT AND PARKING SENSORS
Many C8s have the front lift. The pattern is fitted with the nose at its normal height and the edges are heat-set so the film does not move when the lift raises the car at your driveway apron. The parking sensors and the front camera are cut out.
STINGRAY, Z06, AND E-RAY FRONT ENDS
The Z06 and E-Ray wear the wide body with a different fascia and larger intakes than the Stingray, so each uses its own pattern. Stingray cars with the Z51 package have the lower front splitter; we cut for the exact combination.
CARBON FLASH AND PAINTED TRIM
The Carbon Flash splitter and the visible carbon fiber ground effects on some cars are not painted body panels. We cover the painted fascia and leave the carbon pieces as they are, or film them separately if you want the weave protected.

Can You Spot the PPF?
Two cars, both filmed. A proper install is wrapped under the hood edges and tucked into the bumper, so there is no line to find.
Questions
CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8 PPF QUESTIONS
Yes, and most of the C8s we see have it. The film is applied with the nose at normal ride height and the edges are heat-set so raising the car does not disturb it. The lift works the same afterward and the film stays put.
No. On white the film is invisible, and on a C8 it matters more than usual because the front clip has no trim lines to hide an edge. The edges are wrapped under the frunk lid and tucked at the fender arches, so there is nothing to find.
Full front takes one day. The Z06 and E-Ray fascias have more openings and take a bit longer, so we sometimes ask for a second morning. A Gtechniq coating over the film adds a day on top of that.
Not in the front packages; those cover the fascia, frunk lid, fenders, mirrors, headlights, and the A-pillars, with rockers and door edges in the extended package. Mention the scoops when you book and we can address them while the car is here.
Yes. Light chips get touched up so they do not spread and the film goes over them. A fascia that is heavily pitted is better repainted first, and we will tell you honestly which side of that line your car is on.
