Jeep Grand Cherokee · Chantilly, VA
GRAND CHEROKEE PAINT PROTECTION FILM
The current Grand Cherokee is the family SUV of Northern Virginia, and its long, level hood ends at exactly the height where gravel comes off a dump truck on Route 50. The slim LED headlights are expensive, the painted bumper fascia reaches almost to the road, and the dark metallics Jeep sells it in show every white chip. Full front film on a WL goes on in a day and keeps the nose looking like the day it came off the transporter.
We film two-row and three-row Grand Cherokees from the Chantilly, Fairfax, and Sterling dealers, usually within the first month of ownership. Below is where this body takes its hits, what partial, full front, and full front extended mean on a Grand Cherokee, how the film works around the radar and parking sensors, what is different on the 4xe, and the questions owners ask most before they book.
What we see in the bay
WHERE A GRAND CHEROKEE TAKES DAMAGE
Lower bumper under the grille
The painted fascia below the seven-slot grille takes the first strike from anything kicked up on I-495. On Summit and Overland trims more of the lower bumper is painted, so there is more to protect.
A hood at tailgate height
The Grand Cherokee hood is long and nearly level, and its front edge lines up with the tailgate of the pickup ahead. Chips land in the first foot and are visible from the driver's seat.
Slim LED headlights
The thin headlamps run back into the fenders and are costly to replace. Pitting from grit dulls them long before they fail, and film keeps the lenses clear.
Fender arches and doors
Wide arches collect pickup from the front tires, and four doors plus a liftgate mean a lot of edge contact in a school parking lot. The extended package exists for this.
Three packages
WHAT EACH PACKAGE COVERS ON THE GRAND CHEROKEE
Partial Front
High-impact zones only · Half a day
Painted bumper, the first 18 inches of the hood, the leading edge of each fender, and the mirror caps. It covers the strike zone, but the film line across a hood this long is easy to spot on Diamond Black or Baltic Gray.
- Full front bumper
- Leading 18" of the hood
- Leading edge of both fenders
- Side mirrors
Full Front
What most drivers choose · One day
Full hood with the edges wrapped under, both fenders into the arches, the bumper, mirrors, headlights, and A-pillars. No hood line. For a Grand Cherokee that commutes on the Dulles Toll Road, this is the one we recommend.
- Full hood
- Full front bumper
- Both full fenders
- Side mirrors
- Headlights
- A-pillars
Full Front Extended
Front end plus the wear areas · One to two days
Adds the rocker panels, door edges, and door cups on all four doors. Choose it for a three-row L with kids in the back or an Overland that heads for gravel.
- Everything in Full Front
- Rocker panels
- Door edges and door cups
- Door strips
- A-pillars (halfway)
Pricing depends on the trim and the coverage you pick. What sets a PPF quote, or request yours and we reply the same business day.
RADAR AND PARKING SENSORS
The adaptive cruise radar sits behind the front emblem, and the bumper carries ultrasonic parking sensors. Both are cut out of the pattern; nothing is filmed over, so adaptive cruise and park assist behave exactly as before.
4XE CHARGE DOOR
The plug-in Grand Cherokee has its charge port on the driver's front fender, ahead of the door. The fender piece is cut around the door so it opens and closes freely. Give us the trim and we plot the right pattern.
TWO-ROW AND L SHARE A NOSE
The Grand Cherokee and the three-row Grand Cherokee L use the same front end, so the hood, fender, and bumper patterns are the same. The L's longer doors and rockers change only the extended package.

Where Rock Chips Actually Land
A walk through the body shop showing why the hood, fenders, bumper, and headlights take the hits, and why full front PPF covers exactly those panels.
Can You Spot the PPF?
Two cars, both filmed. A proper install is wrapped under the hood edges and tucked into the bumper, so there is no line to find.
Questions
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE PPF QUESTIONS
No. The radar window behind the emblem and every bumper sensor are cut out of the pattern. Film never covers a sensor, and the camera behind the windshield is not touched. Owners notice no difference in adaptive cruise, blind-spot alerts, or parking assistance after the install.
No line at all. The whole hood is filmed as one piece with the edge wrapped under the lip, and the fender pieces tuck into the wheel arches. Partial front stops partway up the hood and shows on Diamond Black; full front does not.
Yes. The L has the same hood, fenders, bumper, and headlights as the two-row truck, so the front patterns are identical. Only the doors and rockers differ, and we have patterns for those as well if you want the extended package.
Before any dealer package goes on. Dealer sealants and glazes have to come off before film will bond, which adds prep. A new truck straight from the Chantilly or Sterling lot with factory paint untouched is the ideal starting point.
Full front is one day. Full front extended on an L, with four long doors and rockers, is closer to two. Most Grand Cherokee owners also add a Gtechniq coating over the film, which needs one more day for the cure.
