Acura Integra Type S · Chantilly, VA

INTEGRA TYPE S PAINT PROTECTION FILM

The Integra Type S is a Civic Type R in a sharper suit, and it gets driven like one. The wide fenders push the arches out into the spray, the mesh grille opens up most of the nose, and the low lip under the bumper is the first thing to meet a speed bump on Route 7. Owners who picked one up at the Acura dealer in Chantilly usually find their first chip on the hood within the first thousand miles.

We film the Type S in our Chantilly shop, often the week it is delivered. This page covers where this body takes damage, what partial, full front, and full front extended mean on a hatchback with flared fenders, how we handle the hood vent and the honeycomb grille, which colors show chips most, and the questions Integra owners ask before booking.

What we see in the bay

WHERE A INTEGRA TYPE S TAKES DAMAGE

The low front lip

The lip under the bumper rides close to the ground and gets scraped on driveways and peppered by stones on I-66. Film takes the scuffs and self-heals the light ones.

The vented hood

The hood is low and sloped, with a vent cut into it. Stones land across its front half, and the painted edges around the vent catch grit that would otherwise pass over.

Wide fenders and arches

The flared fenders sit right behind the front tires and take tire pickup on the arch lip. On a Type S the fenders are the panels that show wear first after the bumper.

Mirrors and headlights

Small painted mirror caps and the slim Jewel Eye headlights both face the airstream. Pitted lenses dull the beam, and the mirror caps chip because the paint on them is thin.

HOOD VENT AND GRILLE EDGES

The hood pattern is cut around the vent opening with the edges tucked under the vent trim, and the bumper piece follows the honeycomb grille so no film sits over an opening. Each piece is computer-cut for the Type S, not borrowed from a base Integra.

SENSORS AND THE CAMERA

The AcuraWatch camera sits behind the windshield and is never touched. Cars with front parking sensors have each sensor cut out of the bumper piece. Nothing is filmed over a sensor.

THE TYPE S BODY IS WIDER

The Type S fenders and bumper are wider than the A-Spec, so it uses its own pattern set. The base Integra and A-Spec share theirs. Tell us the trim and we plot the right one.

By trim

ACURA INTEGRA TYPE S TRIMS WE FILM

Integra / Integra A-Spec

Narrower body and a different bumper; full front with the standard patterns.

Integra A-Spec with Technology

Same body as A-Spec, with parking sensors cut around.

Integra Type S

Wide fenders, vented hood, and its own front-end patterns; full front is the usual pick.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

The 3-Step Prep Before PPF

A rare Mustang GT California Special goes through the prep every car gets before film: masking the trim, a paint enhancement pass, and the alcohol wipe that makes the film bond.

Where Rock Chips Actually Land

A walk through the body shop showing why the hood, fenders, bumper, and headlights take the hits, and why full front PPF covers exactly those panels.

Questions

ACURA INTEGRA TYPE S PPF QUESTIONS

No. The vent stays open; the hood piece is cut around it with the film edges tucked under the vent trim. Air flows through exactly as designed. It is one of the reasons we cut patterns specifically for the Type S rather than using a base Integra hood.
