MACAN PAINT PROTECTION FILM

The Macan is the most common Porsche on the Dulles Toll Road, and its nose sits lower than the Cayenne's, which puts the intakes and the hood edge right in the gravel stream behind a truck on I-66. Porsche paint is thin on every model and the Macan is no exception; a Macan that commutes from McLean to Tysons without film has a peppered bumper within a couple of winters. Full front STEK film takes the chips instead of the paint and goes on in a day.

Below is where a Macan picks up damage around Northern Virginia, what each of our three packages covers on this body, how we handle the sensors and the lights, and what changed with the Macan Electric. The gas car and the electric car are different bodies with different pattern sets, so tell us which one when you book.

What we see in the bay

WHERE A MACAN TAKES DAMAGE

The wide lower intakes

The Macan's bumper is mostly openings, and the painted bars between and above them take stones squarely. On the GTS and the Turbo the openings are larger and the painted frames thinner.

The hood edge at gravel height

The Macan hood is lower than a full-size SUV's, so the leading edge takes hits that would go under a Cayenne. Chips in the first foot of the hood are what Macan owners come in with.

Headlights and mirror caps

The headlights sit high at the corners and pit from highway grit. The mirror caps chip at the leading edge. Both are included in full front and both are expensive on a Porsche.

Paint that swirls from one wash

Porsche clear coat marks easily, and a Macan that sees a brush wash in Reston shows it. The self-healing STEK top coat closes the light marks in the sun.

Three packages

WHAT EACH PACKAGE COVERS ON THE MACAN

Partial Front

High-impact zones only · Half a day

Bumper, the first 18 inches of the hood, the fender edges, and the mirror caps. The line crosses the hood where you see it from the driver's seat, which is why few Macan owners stop here.

  • Full front bumper
  • Leading 18" of the hood
  • Leading edge of both fenders
  • Side mirrors
Most chosen

Full Front

What most drivers choose · One day

Full hood, both fenders, the bumper, mirrors, headlights, and A-pillars, with the hood edge wrapped under and the fenders tucked into the arches. The standard Macan job and our recommendation for one that commutes.

  • Full hood
  • Full front bumper
  • Both full fenders
  • Side mirrors
  • Headlights
  • A-pillars

Full Front Extended

Front end plus the wear areas · One to two days

Adds the rocker panels, door edges, and door cups. Macan sills sit low and get scuffed by shoes, and the door cups scratch from keys and rings. Common on cars that park in a garage at Tysons every day.

  • Everything in Full Front
  • Rocker panels
  • Door edges and door cups
  • Door strips
  • A-pillars (halfway)

Pricing depends on the trim and the coverage you pick. What sets a PPF quote, or request yours and we reply the same business day.

SENSORS, CAMERA, AND RADAR

The Macan carries parking sensors across the bumper, a front camera on cars with surround view, and the radar for adaptive cruise in the lower intake. Every window is cut out of the pattern. Nothing is filmed over, and the film follows the intake edges so nothing lifts at speed.

GAS MACAN AND MACAN ELECTRIC

The Macan Electric is a different body with a different nose, split lighting with the daytime running lights above and the main headlights lower in the bumper, and no grille. It uses its own pattern set. The gas Macan's patterns differ by facelift year as well, so we cut for the exact build.

CORRECTION BEFORE FILM

Porsche paint is thin enough that a dealer prep wash can leave swirls. Every Macan gets an inspection and a correction before the film goes on so nothing is locked in underneath.

Questions

PORSCHE MACAN PPF QUESTIONS

Yes. The electric car has a different nose and lighting layout, so it uses its own pattern set, and the main headlights down in the bumper get their own pieces. Tell us whether the car is a 4, a 4S, or a Turbo and we cut the right one.
