BRONCO PAINT PROTECTION FILM

A Bronco is built to be scratched, which is exactly why owners film the parts that are not supposed to be. The hood is flat and painted, the fenders are painted above the flares, and on most trims the front bumper has painted sections between the plastic. Those are the pieces that show every stone from Route 28 and every branch on a trail. The Bronco in our gallery got full front STEK film with a ceramic coating, and that combination is what we suggest for most of them.

This page covers where a Bronco picks up chips in Northern Virginia, what each package means on a body with removable doors and trail sights on the hood, how we handle the modular bumper and the Raptor's wider nose, and which trims change the pattern. If you take the doors off in summer, read the extended package section twice before you choose.

What we see in the bay

WHERE A BRONCO TAKES DAMAGE

The flat hood and the trail sights

The Bronco hood is a flat shelf with the trail sights at the corners, and it takes the direct hit from everything the truck ahead kicks up. The film pattern wraps the hood and goes around the sights.

Painted bumper sections

Between the plastic end caps, the Bronco bumper has painted faces on most trims and a steel bar on the modular bumper. The painted faces chip; the steel just dents.

Fender tops above the flares

The flares are plastic, painted on some trims and bare on others, but the fender above them is paint. Gravel from the front tires lands exactly there.

Door edges and the removable doors

Every time a door comes off and goes back on, its edge meets something. The door cups also get worked by hands full of gear. Full front extended covers both.

Three packages

WHAT EACH PACKAGE COVERS ON THE BRONCO

Partial Front

High-impact zones only · Half a day

Painted bumper sections, the first 18 inches of the hood, the fender edges, and the mirrors. On the Bronco's flat hood the film line is easy to see, so partial front is mostly chosen for budget reasons.

  • Full front bumper
  • Leading 18" of the hood
  • Leading edge of both fenders
  • Side mirrors
Most chosen

Full Front

What most drivers choose · One day

The complete hood around the trail sights, both fenders, the painted bumper sections, mirrors, headlights, and A-pillars. The package we recommend for a Bronco that does Route 7 on weekdays and dirt on weekends.

  • Full hood
  • Full front bumper
  • Both full fenders
  • Side mirrors
  • Headlights
  • A-pillars

Full Front Extended

Front end plus the wear areas · One to two days

Rockers, door edges, and door cups on top of full front. If the doors ever come off, this is the package, because the edges and the cups take the abuse of removal and reinstallation.

  • Everything in Full Front
  • Rocker panels
  • Door edges and door cups
  • Door strips
  • A-pillars (halfway)

Pricing depends on the trim and the coverage you pick. What sets a PPF quote, or request yours and we reply the same business day.

MODULAR BUMPER AND PLASTIC END CAPS

The steel bar on the modular bumper and the textured plastic caps are left alone; film is for the painted body sections above and between them. The pattern stops exactly where paint ends, so there is no film on a surface that cannot hold it.

FLARES, PAINTED OR NOT

Some trims, such as the Outer Banks, have body-color flares, while the off-road trims wear bare plastic. Painted flares can take film; bare ones do not need it. We check your trim before cutting.

RAPTOR AND SASQUATCH BODIES

The Bronco Raptor is wider with its own fenders and bumper, so it has a separate pattern set. Sasquatch-equipped trucks keep the standard body with bigger flares; the front patterns are the same as the base body.

The 3-Step Prep Before PPF

A rare Mustang GT California Special goes through the prep every car gets before film: masking the trim, a paint enhancement pass, and the alcohol wipe that makes the film bond.

Questions

FORD BRONCO PPF QUESTIONS

Both. The hood piece is cut around the trail sights so the film sits flat, and the sights get their own pieces since they are painted and lead the truck into the wind. The hood edge wraps under the lip so nothing is exposed.
