Cybertruck panels are bare stainless steel, which does not chip like paint but scratches, shows fingerprints, and picks up rust-colored surface spots from road iron if it sits dirty. HOW THE INSTALL WENT
Stainless steel needs a different prep than paint. The front panels were degreased twice, because the factory film leaves a residue that stops PPF from bonding, then wiped with an alcohol solution. The Cybertruck patterns are large, flat sheets with sharp creases, so two installers worked each panel together to keep the film tight into the folds without stretching it. Every edge was heat set and checked the next morning after the truck sat overnight. The coating went on the filmed front, the doors, and the bed sides, which is what keeps fingerprints and road film from showing on bare stainless.
